History
LYKI was founded in 2019 by Donato Coppola, a visionary artist driven by creativity and innovation. He started his practice inspired by his experiences in the vibrant artistic scene of 1990s London, where he founded Officina Coppola and established himself as a point of reference for interior aesthetics and applied arts, pioneering the use of liquid metal, limestone, and resin, and crafting unique artworks and architectural installations. These innovative techniques earned him and his team international recognition, leading to collaborations with renowned brands such as Fendi, Christian Dior, Chanel, and Land Rover, as well as private residences, luxury hotels, and superyachts. One of its most notable projects includes a bronze map installation for Francis Ford Coppola’s winery in California.
In 2019, Coppola decided to move back to its native place, Basilicata, in South of Italy. This move led to the establishment of Lyki Design, where Coppola built a brand new team of young local professionals, sharing his expertise to create extraordinary artworks. The name “Lyki” is inspired by the ancient Lyki people, who settled in the Basento Valley around 1300 BC.
Today, the company combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge techniques, bringing the artistic heritage of Basilicata.
